Keyworth Graphics Hires Lauren Crowley of L.Crowley Design For Internship

HUNTINGTON—Lauren Crowley plans to spend a month working at Keyworth Graphics in order to earn her internship requirements at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut.

The 4-week internship, will give Lauren a real-time look at how a small web design business is run and what it takes to keep it afloat in the competitive Web Design business field. All aspects of managing and working in the business.

As well as bringing to Keyworth an extensive background in studies covering the basics of graphic design and web development, Lauren also has recently been working with Quark, InDesign (layout applications) and After Effects (video editing application). She is also learning CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), and writing for the web (chunking, writing scripts). Says Crowley, "Currently I am analyzing a site for redesign (www.yalepath.org) and writing a redesign proposal. We are also experimenting with podcasting in one of my classes (using final cut to produce media and formatting it for the video ipod)"

Brief overview of duties to be assigned while with Keyworth will include but not be limited to assisting with current projects - among others being a large web site for a local business that deals with precision tools, implementing a comprehensive email list of all clients, partake in launching a direct mail marketing system, assist in identifying several exisiting business web sites that are candidates for redesign and submitting sketches and summaries to go with each one, and other design and development projects.
